    Jacqueline Baerwald

Jacqueline Baerwald spent her childhood drawing, sewing, and crafting surrounded by the farm fields of mid-Michigan. During high school she was introduced to painting and pottery, but it wasn’t until later that she would seriously consider pursuing fine art. After graduation and three years of travel while working with several church youth organizations, she attended Delta College back in Michigan. In 2011 she graduated with an Associate in Fine Arts and an Associate in Liberal Arts, graciously being honored with the Graduating Art Student of the Year Award. Her main objective in creating art is to evoke inquisitive contemplation and meaningful conversation. “I paint to stimulate thought,” says Baerwald. Most of her work is interested in the human condition and the resulting divine interaction. She takes much of her inspiration from reading about, listening to, and observing human habits and history. Baerwald has shown her work in galleries, schools, libraries, ArtPrize, and other public venues to connect with a broader audience, seeking to create opportunities for conscious thought, open conversation, creative networking, and positive change. Her work has been used as an educational springboard in schools and youth groups for self-exploration and public awareness of societal and cultural issues. “I create to connect compassion with conviction.” She continues to create her own studio work, paint commissions, teach private art lessons, and encourage young and old to pursue and explore their own creativity.
